Religious genocide in West Papua has been conducted subtly to ensure the religion glorify the occupier and condemn the practices of the occupied. West Papuans are mostly Christians and are inseparable when it comes to church matters. The churches in West Papua occupy a position of trust among the Papuans as well as keeping alive the spirit of freedom and liberation both from spiritual and physical liberation from Indonesian colonialism.
